Innovation

We put innovation at the forefront of every industry.

Dublin is a major innovation centre. Every day, new creations are being developed in design, science and technology throughout the city. Supported by one of the most skilled workforces in Europe, it is little wonder why major companies from Google to Microsoft have picked Dublin to do business.

Dublin is one of the most skilled capitals in Europe, with the highest proportion of science graduates of any other nation in the European Union. With this skilled workforce, as well as tax incentives for research and development, Dublin has the right conditions to promote the creativity and innovation necessary to bring new solutions to the market.

Each year, the city hosts Innovation Dublin.

The festival showcases and celebrates innovation and creativity that is occurring throughout the city. The event serves to inspire and stimulate innovation, as well as promote networking opportunities between local and international innovators. The event is supported by government, businesses and universities in Dublin. Dublin is also partnering with eight other cities in northwest Europe to find ways to promote understanding and application of open innovation principles as a way to create economic opportunities and enhance competitiveness.

National institutes and the private sector are all playing an important role in promoting creativity and innovation. Innovation centres can be found throughout Dublin in its universities, at business parks, and at the headquarters of local start-ups and multinational firms, including Microsoft, Accenture, Aon and others. With the continued influx of international firms and the growth of technology start-ups in Dublin, the city is well positioned to continue to grow as a centre for creativity and innovation.
