Dublin is internationally renowned and only getting better

Dublin is a city of international scale and is becoming an increasingly important city in the global economy. It has been recognised by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network (GaWC) as a global city standing among the top 30 cities in the global economy. Dublin is also consistently ranked as one of the most liveable cities in Europe.

Dublin’s place in the global economy has grown because of its reputation as a knowledge and innovation capital. From world-class universities to businesses of every scale in almost every sector, Dublin is home to leading innovators. According to the Dublin Convention Bureau, over 1,200 companies from around the world have picked Dublin as their European or International base. These businesses represent every sector, from information and communications technology to pharmaceuticals and healthcare to financial services.

Half of the world’s top fifty banks operate in the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) in Dublin.

In addition, nine of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies have operations in and around Dublin, as well as 13 of the world’s top 20 medical device companies. The top 10 independent software companies in the world also have major operations in and around DublinFirms from around the world continue to locate in Dublin, ensuring the city will expand and solidify its role as a global city and a significant player in the international economy.
