Work with a workforce built for the future of business

Dublin is one of Europe’s youngest and most talented capital cities, attracting Ireland’s most educated and skilled individuals looking to study, live and work. In terms of education and skills, we offer a highly talented and competitive workforce. In fact, 34% of the workforce is under the age of 25 (Eurostar Yearbook 2010) and nearly half of 25 to 34 year olds have a third level qualification, compared to the EU average of only 33% (IDA Vital Statistics, October 2011).

Ireland is also ranked first among European Union member states in third level education attainment and the availability of skilled labour (in the MD Worldwide Competitiveness Yearbook 2011).

Ireland also ranks third in terms of the highest proportions of maths, science and computer graduates in the European Union (Eurostar Yearbook 2010).

Dublin is Ireland’s talent and education hub. The Dublin region has over 57% of Ireland’s total number of international students, according to Education Ireland. We also boast the most science and technology graduates per capita in Europe. Our workforce is also diverse. Approximately 15% of Dublin’s population are non-Irish citizens, according to the 2006 National Census. As an example of how this impacts business, Google’s headquarters in Dublin is staffed by employees representing 122 nations.
