Brains.
Nurtured in Dublin.
Shared with the World.

Dublin’s workforce is one of the most skilled in Europe. With high levels of educational attainment and a high proportion of science graduates, businesses have the support they need to succeed. As a result, technology is on the cutting edge in Dublin as businesses develop new technology.

Technology firms choose Dublin for their operations because of the talent and skills they find within the city. Dublin’s workforce is highly educated, a common theme that businesses find throughout Ireland. Approximately 48% of Ireland’s population between the ages of 25 and 34 hold a third level qualification. This compares to the average of 33% for the European Union (Central Statistics Office 2011).

Meanwhile, Dublin has the highest number of science and technology graduates per capita in Europe. It is little wonder that Dublin is becoming the Internet capital of Europe with a workforce that is primed to develop and master new technology.

If current trends continue, businesses will continue to have a workforce that is ready and able to be at the forefront of technology innovation. The city’s population is among the youngest in Europe. According to the 2006 National Census, 35% of Dublin’s population is under 30 and 50% is under 25. Similarly, about 34% of the city’s workforce is under 25 (Eurostat Yearbook, 2010). Technology firms are also able to do business with markets around the world thanks to Dublin’s diverse workforce. Dubliners hail from 188 countries, speaking dozens of languages that are helping firms build partnerships with businesses in markets throughout the world.
